Projects

We have listed below a diverse sample of projects in which we have made a valuable contribution.

Mersey Gateway (Bridge)

MGServices: Monitoring Works

Project Values: £450m

Delivery: Working on behalf of the Lenders (Banks and the Government) to provide project time and cost monitoring on a fortnightly basis. This allowed the Lenders to release funding when appropriate and make decisions based on accurate, up to date and comprehensive information.

Bond Street station development for Crossrail (Building)

BSSDServices: Cost Consultancy, Contract Management, Change Management, Claims Assessment and Risk and Opportunity Management

Project Value: £110m

Delivery: Working as part of a contractor consortium to deliver a key station for the Crossrail scheme. The key issues on this scheme were the central London location, the top down building approach and the interfaces with other Crossrail contractors in achieving a collective completion date.

North Yorkshire County Council (Bridge and Highways)

P3Services: Quantity Surveying, Cost Consultancy and Risk and Opportunity Management

Project Value: £3.5m

Delivery: Working with North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) and its development team to provide a Bill of Quantities and Cost Consultancy services. This helped NYCC to decide on the best option for the proposed bridge replacement and an indicative cost for the works. The Bill of Quantities allowed NYCC to assess tenders from contractors on a like for like basis.

Manchester Tram and Liverpool/Manchester Trains (Railways)

MTLTServices: Cost Consultancy, Contract Management, Change Management, Claims Assessment and Risk and Opportunity Management

Project Value: £40m and £44m respectively

Delivery: Working as part of a contractor consortium to deliver the extension to the Manchester Metrolink. Working together to achieve a common goal and ensuring the project was delivered to time and cost. The key issues on this project were the introduction of new signalling technology and maintaining an operational tram service.

Also, working for a main contractor to deliver a new electrified route as part of the Northern Powerhouse initiative. The main challenges of this project were supplier management and design. The specialist nature of the work, stringent design constraints along with limited working times, required excellent planning, change management and a firm grip on all site issues that were affecting delivery.

Station refurbishments for London Underground (Buildings)

P5Services: Commercial Management, Risk and Opportunity Management and Claims Assessment

Project Value: £2m to £30m

Delivery: Working as part of a contractor consortium to deliver station upgrades across the London Underground network. The risks involved in working as part of a consortium can be higher than a single contractor, thus risk management was a key element of this project. These risks are further exacerbated when managing many suppliers on site.

Track renewals for London Underground (Railways)

TRLUServices: Commercial Management

Project Value: £52m Annual Works

Delivery: Working for London Underground to help deliver track renewals projects for the Overground and Underground. The main issues were co-ordination with the many parties on and off site. This meant change management as well as cost and time challenges were the main focus in ensuring a successful delivery of the project.
